Raul Alejandro Ruiz Ruiz Ocasio born on 10 January 1993 is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He is referred to as "the King of Modern Reggaeton"[2][3and is part of "the new generation" of Puerto Rican urban artists. [4] His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album), was released in the month of November in 2020. Vice Versa is his second studio album was released in June of 2021. It featured the lead single "Todo de Ti". With 12 nominations, he has won two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Ocasio-Ruiz was born on the 10th of January 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. [4][5] His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz was a guitarist , and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his backing vocalist. He was introduced to music by Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. [6] For many years, Alejandro and his father resided in the mainland United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where he got inspiration from the R&B and dancehall genres. [7][8] Alejandro and his fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA were childhood pals; they all attended the same school and took classes together. [9][10] Alejandro took part in school show as a youngster since he was a lover of dancing. After graduating from high school, he began his studies in the University of Puerto Rico. He played soccer between six and twenty. But , he resigned because he was unable to perform as he was expected to. In order to be scouted by the Premier Development League (PDL) the player moved to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's music style is Latin R&B and reggaeton. He also enjoys dance music and rhythmic pop. Billboard said that this has made him stand out from the growing group of reggaetones who are influenced by pop. He was influenced early on by Presley and Jackson and later, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, as well as Chris Brown. [24] He also credits Ciara for his musical inspiration.
